Anna Urszula Kordas

Anna Urszula Kordas is an archaeologist specializing in the ancient architecture of the Greco-Roman world and Greek epigraphy. Her research focuses on stonemasons’ marks and architectural decoration as evidence for reconstructing ancient buildings and understanding construction processes and the organization of construction. She is the author of a study of hundreds of stonemasons’ marks on the Tauchira Gate at Ptolemais in Cyrenaica, providing new insights into the practical realities of an ancient construction site. She has also co-authored architectural reconstructions of the stoas of the Agora at Amathus in Cyprus and initiated the identification of a previously unknown Roman temple-like structure in the Latsithkia region of Cyprus. This discovery led to the establishment of the Sacred Landscape Latsithkia Project in Cyprus, based at the University of Warsaw.
