Elizabeth P. Baughan is an associate professor of classics and archaeology at the University of Richmond. Her research focuses on burial furniture, banqueting ideologies, and cultural identities in western Anatolia. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, and is the author of Couched in Death: Klinai and Identity in Anatolia and Beyond (2013). She served as field supervisor for the Hacımusalar Höyük excavations in Turkey and has also excavated at Sardis (Turkey), Poggio Civitate (Italy), and historic sites in Virginia.
