Donald Haggis is Nicholas A. Cassas Term Professor of Greek Studies and professor of classical archaeology in the Department of Classics, the Curriculum in Archaeology, and the Research Laboratories of Archaeology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). He is a contributing faculty member of the Duke-UNC Consortium for Classical and Mediterranean Archaeology. His fields are Prepalatial and Protopalatial Crete and the Early Iron Age and Archaic Aegean. He is director of the Azoria Project, which is the excavation of an Early Iron Age–Archaic settlement in eastern Crete.
