Alena Wigodner is a Ph.D. candidate in anthropology at the University of Arizona, with a concentration in Mediterranean archaeology. Her research interests include gender and expressions of identity in the Roman provinces, votive religious practice, and the use of exploratory statistics to shed light on individual decision-making in the ancient world. She is currently pursuing dissertation research focused on the gendered dimensions of colonialism in the western Roman provinces.
