John MacGinnis is based at the British Museum, where he was lead archaeologist in the museum’s “Iraq Scheme” archaeological training program. He has a degree and a PhD in Assyriology and Near Eastern Archaeology from the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on the archaeology and epigraphy of Mesopotamia in the first millennium BC, with a particular interest in the Assyrian Empire, and he has published extensively in these fields.
