Cecilie Brøns is senior researcher and curator of the Department of Ancient Art at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Copenhagen. She is the director of the museum’s interdisciplinary polychromy research project, which explores the colors of ancient art and architecture (www.trackingcolour.com). Her research focuses on pigments and dyes; the use and cultural significance of colors, ancient textiles, dress, and fashion; and fakes and forgeries of ancient art. She is curator in charge of the current reinstallation of the galleries of the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek’s Etruscan, Cypriot, and Palmyrene collections as well as the forthcoming exhibition “Power Dressing: Fashion in the Roman Empire” (2025).
