Rachel Catherine Patt is assistant professor of art history at the University of Notre Dame. She received her B.A. from Stanford in Classics, her M.A. from the Courtauld Institute of Art in Art History, and her Ph.D. from Emory University in Art History with a focus on the material and visual culture of ancient Rome. Her research focuses broadly on forms of artistic production outside of painting, sculpture, and architecture in the Roman Empire and Late Antiquity. She is especially interested in issues of representation, materiality, and scale.
