Rachel Kousser is an associate professor at the City University of New York. She has received fellowships from the Getty Research Institute, the Center for the Advanced Study of the Visual Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Mellon Foundation. Her first book, Hellenistic and Roman Ideal Sculpture: The Allure of the Classical, was published in 2008 (Cambridge). Her current research project concerns the afterlives of monumental public sculptures in classical and Hellenistic Greece.
