Guus Kroonen

Guus Kroonen is associate research professor at the Roots of Europe Center of Copenhagen University and assistant professor at the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics. He is a historical linguist specializing in the Indo-European languages. His research focuses on etymology and prehistoric language contact. As of July 2017 he will be leading the ERC Starting Grant project “The Agricultural Roots of Europe’s Neolithic Transition,” whose objective is to study the linguistic impact of the Neolithic Revolution in Europe. His long-term goal is to start a multidisciplinary research center on the study of Europe’s linguistic prehistory.
