Fikret Yegül

Fikret Yegül is Distinguished Professor, emeritus, University of California, Santa Barbara, Department of the History of Art and Architecture. His main interests are Greek and Roman archaeology, Roman Architecture and Urbanism, especially Asia Minor. He has been a member of the Sardis Archaeological Expedition since 1963 and was a Resident at the American Academy in Rome in 1998. Some of his books include: The Bath-Gymnasium Complex at Sardis (1986); Baths and Bathing in Classical Antiquity (1994 Alice D. Hitchcock Award); Bathing in the Roman World (2010); Roman Architecture and Urbanism (2020 PROSE Excellence Award); and The Temple of Artemis at Sardis, 2 vols (2020).
