Manuel Berenguel
Manuel Berenguel is a Ph.D. student in the History Department at Le Mans University, France and in the Department of Maritime Civilizations at the University of Haifa, Israel. He is studying the toolkit of the shipwright and its evolution from Antiquity to the Middle Ages. His research interests include the operational sequence (chaîne opératoire) of shipbuilding, woodworking technology, tool marks analysis, experimental archaeology, and ethnographic studies focusing on technological data. The social aspects of craftmanship are also part of his research field. He is currently teaching introductory archaeology courses and coastal archaeology at Le Mans and Rennes II Universities.
