Digital heritage specialist and digital archaeologist Mohamed Abdelaziz was born and educated in Alexandria, Egypt. He has an M.A. in archaeology and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation. He has been employed as an archaeologist at the Ministry of Egyptian Antiquities, a photogrammetry engineer at Centre d’Études Alexandrines (CEAlex), and a research associate at Indiana University. Since 2022 he has been Art Director at Flyover Zone. Mohamed has worked on many cultural heritage and museums projects in Egypt, Europe, and the USA, utilizing his 3D reconstruction and documentation skills. His work includes 3D capture of entire archaeological sites and museum artifacts, as well as virtual anastylosis (integration) of sculptural fragments, virtual restoration, and development of new methods for revealing previously invisible details of archaeological inscriptions.
