Ursula Rothe gained her doctorate from the University of Manchester; since then, she has held a temporary lectureship and Leverhulme postdoc at the University of Edinburgh, managed the DressID EU project for the Reiss-Engelhorn Museums in Germany, and since 2012 has held a permanent position in Classical Studies at the Open University. Her research focuses on Roman dress and the archaeology of the northern provinces. She has also published on cultural theory and has conducted fieldwork in Jordan, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Italy.
