Charles Brian Rose is the James B. Pritchard Professor of Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of Pennsylvania and Peter C. Ferry Curator-in-Charge of the Mediterranean Section of the Penn Museum. He has served as President of the Archaeological Institute of America, and as president of the American Research Institute in Turkey. He currently serves as director of the Gordion excavations and as Head of Post-Bronze Age excavations at Troy. His book on The Topography and Monuments of Ancient Rome will be published in 2026 by Cambridge University Press. His earlier publications include Dynastic Commemoration and Imperial Portraiture in the Julio-Claudian Period and The Archaeology of Greek and Roman Troy.
