Carrie Hritz

Carrie Hritz is an assistant professor of anthropological archaeology in the Department of Anthropology at the Pennsylvania State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations in 2005. She is interested in human-environment interactions in the ancient world as recorded in the archaeological record and the rise of complex societies in the ancient Near East. Her research integrates geo-spatial tools and remote sensing data sets, and she has conducted fieldwork in Syria and Iraq.
