Erin Walcek Averett is assistant professor of archaeology at Creighton University and the assistant director of the Athienou Archaeological Project on Cyprus. She also serves as the Adjunct Curator of Antiquities at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha. She received her Ph.D. in classical art and archaeology from the University of Missouri and specializes in the art and archaeology of Early Iron Age Greece and Cyprus, with special focus on terracotta figurines and eastern Mediterranean sanctuaries.
