Jan Z. (Janric) van Rookhuijzen is a researcher and lecturer at Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and member of the National Research School of Classical Studies (OIKOS). His doctoral work examined the role of memory in Herodotus’ account of the Persian Wars, resulting in the monograph Herodotus and the Topography of Xerxes’ Invasion (2018, De Gruyter). He currently investigates the archaeology and reception history of the Acropolis of Athens. This project was funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) and the Gerda Henkel Stiftung. His research was awarded the Early Career Award by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
