Jane DeRose Evans

Jane DeRose Evans is chair and professor in the Art History Department, Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University, specializing in the Roman world. Her fieldwork has taken her from France to Israel to Turkey; she serves as the numismatist for the Harvard-Cornell Archaeological Exploration of Sardis and is publications editor for the Joint Expeditions to Caesarea Maritima. Beyond fieldwork, her interests include the study of ancient coinage, especially of the Roman and Byzantine periods; reception and interpretation of iconography; and cultural heritage questions.
