Molly Swetnam-Burland is an associate professor of classical studies at the College of William and Mary, interested in Roman sculpture and painting. She has published several articles and a book (Egypt in Italy: Visions of Egypt in Roman Imperial Culture [Cambridge 2015]) treating the Roman interest in Egypt in the first and second centuries C.E., looking particularly at the importation of Egyptian antiquities to Italy and the adaptation of Egyptian motifs in Roman sculpture and painting.
