In most cases, the time from submission to decision for articles submitted to the American Journal of Archaeology is from four to six months.
Submissions should not exceed 20,000 words, including abstract, article body, works cited, notes, and figure captions.
All submissions should follow the AJA Policy on the Publication and Citation of Unprovenanced Antiquities.

Caitlín Barrett is assistant professor of classics at Cornell University and holds degrees from Yale University (Ph.D.) and Harvard University (A.B.). Her research investigates cultural, religious, and trade connections between Egypt and the rest of the ancient Mediterranean world; the archaeology of religion and ritual; and the material culture of ancient households. Her first monograph, Egyptianizing Figurines from Delos: A Study in Hellenistic Religion (Leiden and Boston 2011), investigated hybridization and religious change in Hellenistic households through the study of “Egyptianizing” terracotta figurines from Delos. She is currently completing a monograph (under contract to Oxford University Press) on Egyptian landscapes in Roman domestic contexts.
