Bernard Frischer is Professor Emeritus at Indiana University, the University of Virginia, and UCLA. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg. A former Rome Prize Fellow and Trustee of the American Academy in Rome, he has directed the Virtual World Heritage Laboratory and led the Rome Reborn, Digital Hadrian’s Villa, and Indiana-Uffizi 3D Digitization projects. He was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the journals Digital Applications in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage and Studies in Digital Heritage. Since retiring from Indiana University in 2023, he has continued his research in Roman topography and virtual simulation while managing the ed-tech company Flyover Zone, which he founded in 2022.
