David L. Stone is an archaeologist specializing in ancient North Africa and urban survey. He is the main author of Leptiminus (Lamta): Report no. 3, the Field Survey (with D.J. Mattingly and N. Ben Lazreg [Portsmouth, R.I. 2011]), the final report of a multidisciplinary investigation of a port town. He is the coeditor of Mortuary Landscapes of North Africa (with L.M. Stirling [Toronto 2007]) and has written other publications on stamped amphoras, identity, and the ancient economy. In 2014, David began directing a field survey for the Olynthos Project in northern Greece. He has held the position of Book Review Editor for the AJA beginning with Volume 121, Number 1 (January 2017).
